Competition Schedule

Date: February 26, 2008
Location: Angelo State University, Houston Harte Center

  • 7:00AM - Registration & Sign-In
  • 8:30AM - Judges enter arena
  • 8:30AM - 11:30AM - 1st round judging
  • 1:00PM - 2nd round judging for overall finalists
  • 6:30PM - Awards Ceremony

Student Things To Do

Below are activities that Angelo State University planned for Science Competition participants. Some academic departments and the admissions office may also have booths for students to visit. Students – please demonstrate responsible behavior at all events.

Noisy or disruptive groups will be asked to leave!

  • Nature Talk
    10:30am & 11:30am
    Organization: Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (Pat Bales)
    Location: Rooms 110/111 (first floor, this building -- Bldg #14 on map)
  • Science Demonstrations
    11:00am & 12:00pm
    Organization: American Chemical Society, ASU Student Chapter (Dr. Flynn & Dr. Howell)
    Location: Nasworthy Suites (Rooms 203/204) (second floor, this building -- Bldg #14 on map)
  • Library Tours
    11:00 am, 11:30am, 12:00pm, 12:30pm
    Organization: Library and Library Staff (Mark Allan)
    Location: Circulation Desk inside the Library (Located behind this building. It’s Bldg #3 on map)
  • Movie Time
    Begins after Nature Talk, aprox. 11:30am
    (Various movies will run throughout the day)
    Organization: UC Staff (Antonio Barrientos)
    Location: Rooms 110/111 (first floor, this building -- Building #14 on map)
  • Planetarium
    1:00pm & 2:00pm
    Organization: Physics Department (Dr. Sonntag)
    Location: First Floor, Vincent Building (Building #10 on map)
  • Sports Equipment
    Sports equipment is available for checkout throughout the day)
    Garden Level (grassy area between science fair building #14 and Library/Academic Building #3) Super Slab
